This book contains a history of the Forest of Kolodzla, a “haunted” area on the Island of Chrachz. The book describes the many legends of hauntings and evil creatures that inhabit the island’s dark woodlands.

This spell affects parts of a wooden weapon like a staff or bow, or it affects the wooden part a composite weapon like a rifle’s stock. The affected portion creates long, sharp thorns that attempt to repeatedly stab the holder of the weapon, inflicting cruel wounds and making the item very difficult to hold onto. Each round the user is holding the item, including the round the spell begins, the thorns inflict + 4 damage. If the item is a weapon, tool, magic item, or something else that requires holding, aiming, or activating through touch, a Stamina + Concentration stress roll, Ease Factor 12, will allow the user to ignore the pain and distraction of the undulating thorns and make use of the item that round. As you walk through a forest after casting this spell, all the plant material 10 paces in front of you and 5 paces to either side withers and dies. Trees are reduced to bare trunks, while their leaves and all smaller plants turn to ash. You can walk for 7 miles with each casting of this spell. (Base 3, + 1 Touch, + 2 Group, + 3 size, + 1 fancy effect: the spell effect tracks the user’s movement for specific application rather than affecting the forest all at once)

Ward against Faeries of the Wood (Lab Notes: Rego Herbam 15)

No forest faerie whose Faerie Might is equal to or less than the level of the spell can affect those targeted by the spell. Such faeries cannot directly or indirectly break the magic circle, nor can they use ranged attacks or magic to affect those within it. At some angles, at night, the ring appears to be a green-hued dome. (Base effect)

Ward against Wood (Lab Notes: Rego Herbam 20)

The caster is protected from non-enchanted wood, so that none of it can actually contact his body. If he is walking on a wooden surface, he is actually suspended slightly above it. (Base 15, + 1 Diameter)
