Cherry Seed


The Cherry Seed came into the library assets as a gift from the Farrani of the Plum Islands. It is a three-barrel matchlock pistol; the three pipes rotated by hand between shots so that the match strikes whichever barrel is positioned on top. Stylized instructions are painted on the barrels in Karahzed. They require the weapon to be reloaded only at dawn, during prayer, and warn that only such blessed loads will receive Argenta’s favor.

No Warning Gave the Watchman (Perdo Imaginem 5/30); R: Bullet, D: Diameter, T: Individual. A victim struck by this shot can make no sound. Audible species will not issue from him, his clothing, nor anything else governed by the Individual target parameter. This effect applies only to the three bullets loaded into the gun at dawn; shots loaded at any other time will not carry the effect. (Base 3, + 1 Bullet, + 1 Diameter) (+ 2 for three uses per day, + 23 for 46 penetration)

Subtle the Touch of Grace and Modesty (Perdo Imaginem 10/15); R: Personal, D: Momentary, T: Individual. The weapon, when fired, produces no sound and it creates no visible smoke nor smell of discharge. This applies only when the weapon fires one of its three “blessed” shots; it has no effect on shots not loaded at dawn. (General 5) (+ 2 for three uses per day, + 3 linked trigger (unique combination that exceeds the user’s significant action allowance for the round))

The Cherry Seed has three barrels, loaded separately. It fires ball rather than cartridge, so is not truly a “magazine” weapon within the meaning of these rules. But it can be fired three times consecutively without reloading.

The Cherry Seed ignores the first two points of protection granted by armor against targets within its first range increment.
